Melissa Lowery, LPC-MHSP, NCC
Seeking counseling can feel like a vulnerable experience. With the belief that counseling is tailored to the individual needs of the person, I have a supportive and strengths-based approach, customized to your unique story of grief, loss, transition or trauma. I work to create a place of safety and acceptance in which you can comfortably explore the direction best suited for your personal healing and wholeness.
I am thrilled to be back in my hometown of the ‘Boro working in private practice as an LPC-MHSP, NCC, after over 20 years away. I gained valuable counseling experience in that time, working in various environments in pursuit of helping people develop resilience and hopefulness.
With additional training in sports counseling (specific to performance psychology and injury recovery), I developed an interest in working with athletes. I also have a great deal of experience in working with people through grief/loss, life adjustment, and depression and anxiety issues.
As a result of my training and experience, I am also a state board approved supervisor for counselors working towards their LPC licensure. Supervising burgeoning clinicians helps keep me up-to-date with the latest research and trends in the mental health field, which benefits my clients.
I accept private pay for sessions for adults and adolescents 15+ and will soon accept some insurances (details TBA). I commend the courage it takes to ask for help, and I appreciate the opportunity to walk with you on your path.
One on one counseling delivered with compassion and skill.
